Caring for genuine leather and suede:

Taking the time to Care for your genuine leather & or suede clothing choices is essential, to maintain their beauty and longevity. By following a few simple steps, you can ensure that your leather pieces stay in excellent condition for years to come.

Leather:

  • Protect them from direct sunlight and extreme heat as they can cause the leather to fade or dry out.
  • Refresh the garment regular by gently wiping it with a soft cotton damp cloth.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives. An ideal alternative: use a small amount of cosmetic cleanser or petroleum jelly-based product. Apply it to a soft cotton cloth and use gentle circular motions. This will enhance the softness of the leather and keep it in great condition.
  • If your leather garment gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources.
For a thorough cleaning, it is highly recommended to take your leather garment to a professional dry cleaner who specializes in leather wear.

Suede:

  • Always Protect with a suede protector spray, to repel water and stains.
  • Avoid getting it wet as it can cause staining.
  • Avoid using wet cloths or oil-based products, as they can further stain the garment.
  • Use a soft clothes brush to gently remove surface dirt.

Fur trimming:

  • For best results, air your garment before wearing. Choose good weather conditions with low humidity,
  • Avoid getting the fur wet to preserve its quality and appearance.

Storing your leather wear:

  • Avoid using plastic or nylon bags, as they can trap moisture and damage the material. Always opt for cotton or linen garment bags, allowing the leather to breathe.
  • To prevent colour transfer stains, keep your leather garments separated from each other in your wardrobe, the natural oils of the leather can potentially transfer onto other garments if they are compacted together.
